16 Months

Alex has hit the 16 month mark. Here are some of his latest tricks:

*Says hi, bye, mama, dada, Alex, go, cracker, ball, and is starting to copy other words and names

*Signs more, all done, eat, milk, help, and please

*Gives hug, blows kisses, and gives fist bumps

*Runs

*Throws anything and everything (especially his plate, fork, and cup!)

*Starting to use a fork by himself

*Starting to climb and stand on things he's not supposed to- i.e. his toy box, the couch, etc.

Underwater Adventures

This weekend we went to check out Underwater Adventures at the Mall of America with a group of friends. I think the kids had just as much fun (or more!) playing in the water and on the play structure at the end as they did actually looking at the fish inside.

Easter Egg Hunt

Alex joined his friends this morning for his first Easter egg hunt. It was a bit chilly and there were tons of little tots running around but the kids all did a great job.

Playing Ball

This past week was the first time Alex got to go outside and actually walk around our backyard. He had fun playing with his ball. When he becomes a professional soccer player some day, he can look back at this video and see where it all started.

Then there's this video of Alex who will do anything at all possible to avoid touching the grass with his hands. We'll have to work on that this summer.

Our Little Chef

Apparently Alex and his friend Kylie like to play in the little kitchen at daycare. They are a pretty cute pair.

15 Months

Alex had his 15 month check up this week (even though he's already about 15.5 months now). He rocked the charts coming in at 32" long (75th percentile) and 27 pounds, 10 ounces (85th percentile). He's definitely a growing boy!

Ball Trick

Alex cracked us up last night (as you will clearly hear in the background of the video). He was showing us his new ball trick which I believe he learned from Dad. He's quite good at it. Alex thought he was pretty funny and we did too. It was probably good timing on his part as he's also been showing us a lot more attitude lately too! He's also learned how to get on and off his truck by himself now which he's pretty proud of.

Pajamas

Alex got some pretty spiffy new pajamas from Grandma and Grandpa for Valentine's Day. This picture doesn't do them justice but Alex looks really cute in them. Thanks John and Mary!

Yea! It's Almost the Weekend!

Texas Wedding Trip

We made a trip to Texas last weekend for our great friends April and Brad's wedding. Congratulations April and Brad!! We flew into Dallas, spent the night in Fort Worth, and then headed to Austin for all of the wedding festivities. The weather was beautiful most of the time so we were able to get outside. It was great to see April and Brad, family, as well as our other friends, Angela, Jason, and Avery. All of the other bridesmaids decided at the last minute to wear cowboy boots for the wedding so I caved and joined the boot party. After all of the years of living in Texas, this was my first real pair of cowboy boots.

Bailey's Birthday

A couple of weeks ago Alex got to go to his friend Bailey's first birthday party. There were several young kids for Alex to play with and hide toys from (one of his favorite tricks these days). Bailey lost interest in opening her presents but Alex was happy to help out.
