Sever's Corn Maze

Last Sunday we spent the morning at Sever's Corn Maze with Bailey and her parents. There was so much to do there. The kids had a great time running through a hay bale maze, playing in a giant corn pit, jumping on a bouncy mountain, sliding down the giant slide, and working their way through the corn maze.

They loved the hay bale maze.

The corn pit was pretty cool. Both kids inadvertently

took some corn home in their pants though!

Hmmm...who had more fun on the bouncy mountain- Alex or Dad??

I think it was actually probably me watching from the side!

Alex looked terrified the whole way down the slide

but then wanted to ride it again.

Minnesota State Fair

On the last day of summer break Alex and I made our annual trip to the state fair with my friend, Jennie. We had a good time as usual. Alex liked the animals (especially the baby pigs this time), getting a tattoo with Jennie, doing the kids farming activities, and checking out the kids four wheelers and motorcycles for sale. He also pleaded to go on the carousel when he saw it but then insisted we sit on the bench once we got on. Oh well, maybe next year we will actually make it on a horse! Alex was exhausted by the time we left (and so was I!) that he actually fell asleep in his stroller, which hasn't happened in many, many months.

Alex and Avery

One of the most relaxing days on our trip was spending the day with my friend, Angela, and her two girls, Avery and baby Addison. Avery did a great job sharing her toys with Alex. They enjoyed playing dress-up, chasing each other around in circles, and playing with musical instruments. It was a fun day for everyone. We are looking forward to seeing them again in December!

Indoor Safari Park

One afternoon in Texas we went to check out an Indoor Safari Park with my mom. It was an interesting place. Alex got to ride a little train as well as a mechanical zebra, which he seemed to like. He also got to play in the balls, jump on a trampoline, and play with a train table.

Miniature Railroad

During our trip to Texas, we went with my dad on the Forest Park Miniature Railroad in Fort Worth. Despite the over 100 degree temperatures, it was a really pleasant ride through a park, over numerous bridges, and a quick stop at the train depot for snacks. We all really enjoyed the ride.

How do you turn a really cool train ride into an awesome

one in the life of Alex?? Give him a box of popcorn!!
