Claire

Our good friends, Heidi, Jason, and Henry, finally got the call they have been waiting months and months for- that their daughter (Henry's sister) was finally able to come home! The Anglins hopped on a plane and spent a week in Korea before bringing Claire home last Thursday. I was honored to go with their family to the airport to welcome the family of four back home. We are so excited to get to know sweet, little Claire!

Minnesota Zoo

The boys and I took a trip to the Minnesota Zoo last week with some friends. It is so nice to go during the week when you don't have to fight the crowds. This was the first time Weston has gone where he was been old enough to actually be interested in seeing the animals. He particularly liked looking at all of the fish and sea creatures.

Alex and Bailey digging for dinosaurs

Aunt Jill and Uncle Matt recently taught Alex how to make a fish face. It's a good thing because it has certainly come in handy!

Great Grandma Millie

Before making our long drive back home from Milwaukee we decided to stop at my grandma's house for one last visit. Prior to this trip it had been over 2 years since we had seen her. Alex was just a little tot back then and she had never had the chance to meet Weston before. It was so nice to have a peaceful hour to just sit and visit with her and let her play with the boys a little. Alex walked away with a "new" game called Shut The Box (a favorite of mine as a child) and I walked away with a container of Grandma's homemade brownies so we were all quite happy. Here are the last few pictures of our Door County/Milwaukee adventures.

Ari and Bob's Wedding

After a great week in Door County, we headed down to Milwaukee for my cousin's wedding. Ari looked beautiful and we had a great time celebrating with family that we don't get to see nearly as often as we would like. We made it through the ceremony without any major outbursts by the boys and both of them were champs throughout the dinner and reception.

Lambeau

We took a break from the heat by spending some time in our air conditioned cars driving down to Lambeau Field. We took a stadium tour where we got to go inside a box suite, run out through the tunnel where the players enter the field, and walk around the field. Wes and I sat out for the walk through the hall of fame museum but apparently there were some neat things in there too.

Parade

After a morning of fishing, we went to watch the Egg Harbor 4th of July parade. The highlights were the Brewer sausages and the UW band. After the parade, the Badger band played a 5th quarter. Two of the girls serenaded Alex during one of the songs and Weston slept soundly in his stroller right next to the marching drums and trumpets.

Fishing

Andy found a nice causeway across an inland lake that we could fish off of. This was Alex's first time fishing and he was pretty excited to use his new fishing pole. He scored three fish (or more like two fish and a minnow) on his first outing. Andy decided to go out on his own a second morning and caught something a little bit bigger!

Miniature Golf & Go-Karts

We spent one morning at a Fun Park in Egg Harbor. Alex got to go miniature golfing and go-karting for the first time. He gave them both two thumbs up.

Door County

Prior to my cousin's wedding in Milwaukee last weekend, we spent a week up in Egg Harbor- Door County with my family. The boys did a great job traveling overall.  We rented a large house so we could all stay together. The only downside was that it was a very hot week and the house had no air conditioning, which made for a lot of sweating! Despite the heat we still had a lot of fun. I'll start to post some pictures.

We stopped for lunch in Green Bay at the Titletown Brewery on our way up. The food was fantastic and Alex liked the giant Packer outside.
Our home for the week
The basement provided a nice retreat from the heat and had a pool table, ping pong table, and foosball table. It was no surprise that this was Alex's favorite spot in the house. We often heard, "Grandpa, want to go downstairs with me?" throughout the week.

These guys ran the Hairpin 5k on the 4th of July. Well done troops!

This pretty much sums up the week- hot and sweaty but still smiling!
