Sprinkler Fun!

This is what summer is all about- sprinklers and picnics! Jason's dad built a cool "carwash" sprinkler, so we had to go over and try it out. All of the kids had a blast playing in the water. There's no better way to top off an afternoon of fun than with a pizza party picnic!

Grampinator Visit

We were excited to have my dad come for a visit last weekend. Unfortunately some bad storms wiped out our power for 24 hours as well as the majority of the Dan Patch Days annual festivities. Luckily they still had the fire station pancake breakfast on Sunday, which is by far Alex's favorite activity. We always enjoy the tasty breakfast and checking out the firetrucks. Alex also loved getting to play miniature golf with my dad. After a couple of holes, he got the hang of it and did a great job! It took Wes a little while to warm up to a new face, but he had fun playing soccer and wrestling with grandpa.

Father's Day

We spent some time out at Elko Speedway watching quarter midget racing (kids) on Father's Day. It was nice to be outside and spend some time together as a family. These boys love their daddy!

Summer!

As of this week, it's summer vacation time! I am home and ready to play with my two little tykes. Every now and then we get a beautiful day, which is hopefully a glimpse of the way the weather will be this summer. After what seemed like a never ending winter, we now have had what seems like never ending rain and cloudy weather. We've been trying to go outside as much as we can when the weather is nice though. Here are some updates from this week:
*For the first time since he was a few weeks old, Weston is now completely off all of his reflux medications!
*Weston tolerated his second haircut much better than his first with no screaming or crying.
*We've made it all week long without a morning nap for Wes. Perhaps it's too soon to say, but so far it looks like he has made a surprisingly smooth transition.
*Alex started soccer camp this week. It's twice a week, and he is super excited that his best friend, Henry, is in the same camp too.
*We resumed our summer tradition of Friday morning tot time at the pool this morning, and it was a hit with both boys.
*When the opportunity came up to buy the boys a motorized Hummer, we jumped at it. Alex and Wes both love it!

Farm Weekend

We spent Memorial Day weekend at the farm. Alex had fun helping Mimi feed the calves, and Weston also got a big kick out of all of the cows. We heard a lot of, "Moooo!" that weekend from him. We also had a good time at Logan's (Andy's cousin) high school graduation party. Wes discovered that he loves bouncy houses. He did not want to leave.

Last Day of Preschool at SCLC

Alex is now a graduate of Shakopee Child Learning Center's preschool. His first year of preschool was a great experience. It's fun to look back and see how much he has learned and grown this year. We are proud of our big boy!

End of Year Field Trip

Andy and I took off work Wednesday morning to join Alex for his end of the year preschool party. We rode a school bus out to Teacher Jody's farm, and then returned to the park for a hotdog picnic lunch.
