Christmas lunch with Great Grandma and
Grandpa last Sunday

Alex had an exciting week of meeting new people, sleeping at Grandma and Grandpa's house all week, celebrating his first Christmas, and getting spoiled rotten with gifts and constant love and attention. He got to meet Great Grandpa Ausman, Aunt Rachel and Uncle Sam and cousin Greta, and good friends Nicole, Jeff, and their little guy Mason for the first time. As much as Mom and Dad can't believe it, Alex is already 4 weeks old today and is changing by the day. He's spending more time awake during the day, is starting to track things with his big blue eyes, tolerates bath time more, is "talking" more, and is growing bigger by the day. Unfortunately for Mom and Dad, he is still not sleeping much at night but luckily we are both still off from work and can sneak in naps periodically during the day.

Alex's First Outings

Alex went on his first public outings this week to places other than the doctor. On Thursday we ventured to the Mall of America for some Christmas shopping. Alex was all geared up and ready to go but fell asleep in the car on the way there and did not open an eye again until we were back home. On Friday Beth took Alex to meet some co-workers for lunch. He was well behaved as once again he slept the entire time. I'm not sure how much he took in but at least his first outings were not a disaster.

Lerner Visitors

Aunt Jill

Uncle Beavis

Alex got to meet his Grandpa Jeff, Aunt Jill, and Uncle Kevin this weekend. He is starting to be a little more alert during the day and will occasionally surprise us with a decent night's sleep....only to resume his normal nocturnal ways the next night of course. He has also been fighting frequent bouts of the hiccups recently which he has not been too excited about.

Grandma Barbara Visit

Grandma B came from Texas to visit from Thursday-Tuesday. We all appreciated the extra help, home cooking, and good company. Alex liked his new outfits too. Come visit us again soon, Nona!

First Bath

Mommy's little cowboy.
Only 12-18 months before the cowboy boots fit.
Thanks for the awesome outfit Aunt Sara!

Alex had his first bath at home tonight and hated every minute of it except for having his hair combed at the end.

Thanks Aunt Jill and Grandma B for the monkey outfit!

Alex's first car ride

We got home from the hospital around 5:00pm Monday evening. Not a peep was heard from Alex the whole way home.

39 Weeks

Here's the 39 week picture. Hopefully the 40 week picture will involve me holding the baby in my arms rather than in my belly!

The Nursery is Done!

Rosco tried out the crib for us. He said it passed the
safety test and he approved of our taste in pictures.

"What? You mean this isn't my new bed?"

We have finally completed putting together the nursery. All we need now is the baby! Thank you to everyone for all of the great gifts that allowed us to put together a nice new room for Baby Ausman.

Beth and Baby at 33.5 Weeks

Baby Boy in July

Welcome!

Welcome to our new blog for baby boy Ausman! We've really enjoyed being able to view pictures and stories that many of our friends and family have shared through their blogs so we are jumping on the blog bandwagon for our new little addition. We hope that those people far away will enjoy checking in periodically to see what's new with our family. We plan to post when the new little guy makes his entrance into the world so be sure to check back in a couple of weeks!
