Cars

Andy and I have been scrambling all week to take care of Alex because our daycare has been closed due to sick kids. Sometimes you just have to take advantage and enjoy an extra day with your son. On Tuesday Alex and I went to the Mall of America to check out the newly remodeled Underwater Adventures. We saw lots of cool fish, played on the toddler play structure, had lunch, and then much to our surprise came across a Cars 2 promotion! It was a bit of a wait but well worth it to get to see Lightning McQueen, Tow Mater, and a new car from the upcoming movie up close and personal. We are excited to go see Cars 2 this summer when it comes out.

Get Lucky

Sara ran the Get Lucky half marathon on Saturday and stayed with us for the weekend. She had an amazing race and Alex had a great time playing with Aunt Sara all weekend.

A big thumbs-up for Sara after the race!

Nascar

Alex and Andy went to a Nascar autograph signing at Menards last week. Alex got to check out the racecars and got autographs from Paul Menard and Matt Crafton.

Snow Tubing

I spent all of last week out in Utah for class. It was six looooong days of class but it was nice to hang out with some of the people from my class. We went snow tubing one night after class, which was an absolute blast! I was a little nervous to plunge down the mountain the first time but it was quite a thrill.

Happy Birthday, Bailey!

Two weeks ago we went to Bailey's 2nd birthday party. It was little kid chaos but everyone had a great time. Apparently we were too busy playing to take any good pictures but these were the best I got.

Fun with Henry

Our daycare was closed on Friday so Alex got a day to reunite with his buddy Henry. I think the boys were happy to see each other again as you can see here.

Change Can Be Good

Today completes week 2 at our new daycare. We were sad to leave our friends Henry and Heidi but it has worked out well for everyone. Henry gets to spend some extra needed time with just his mom and Alex gets to play with a great group of new friends. Despite a bout of strep throat last weekend, he has been all smiles over his new daycare and we frequently hear the words, "More Michelle's house." The biggest struggle has been convincing Alex to leave in the afternoons! He loves playing with new friends, new toys, and doing fun activities like coloring, cutting, singing songs, and going on field trips during the day. He has especially bonded with a little boy named Carson. We are very thankful to have found a great place for our little guy.
