Playdate with Henry

Our friends Heidi and Jason had us over on Saturday for a wonderful Korean meal complete with bulgogi (Korean barbeque), mandu (dumplings), and ockssusu jeon (corn fritters). The food was fantastic and we all loved it. Alex also got to have his first official playdate with his friend Henry who is just 3 weeks younger than he is. It was fun watching them interact with each other. We're excited to have a lot more playdates in the future!

Alex once again loved playing with the ball popper. I ended up
buying him one of his own now since he loves them so much.

Henry liked to chase Alex down the hall and Alex liked to
run away from Henry. It was pretty cute.

Snow, snow, and more snow.

We got quite a bit of snow here this week. It still wasn't enough for a snow day but I at least got a 2 hour school delay on Tuesday. I know these pictures will bore those of you in the midwest but I think the warmer state people will be more impressed.

Alex and Bailey

Andy and I went to one of Andy's co-worker's house last night for a little party. Our friends Karla and Colin were nice enough to take Alex for a little while. He had a good time playing with his friend, Bailey. Here are some pictures from their playdate.

This video cracks me up. I like Bailey's trick of poking Alex in the eye to take his toy. It seemed to work well. I may have to try that move sometime. Alex got revenge later by stealing some of her toys.

14 Month Update

Alex hit the 14th month mark on Friday. He is just getting over a non-stop runny nose (going on about 4weeks now), a double ear infection, and a viral rash over the left side of his body but yet none of these things have really bothered him. Here is a list of some of Alex's latest tricks.

*Says Mama, Dada, Alex, hi, bye, uh oh
*Loves to look at animal and farm books and can make the sounds for a dog, cow, sheep, duck, and monkey
*Can stand up without needing to hold on to anything and is starting to attempt running
*Loves to hit the buttons on the TV (a no no at our house) while looking back at you and shaking his head and smiling
*Runs away as soon as you grab a kleenex or say "Let's go change your diaper."
*Likes to give hugs and blow kisses

Sledding

We took Alex sledding for the first time yesterday. We just went in our backyard so he could slide down the little hill we have in his new sled that he got for Christmas. Alex loved it and kept telling Andy to "da" which is his way of saying "go."

"Ready, set....."

"Da!"

After going down the hill several times, Andy took Alex for a little jog around the backyard. Alex thought it was pretty funny.

Anniversary

Andy I celebrated our 5th anniversary last week. Sara came to watch Alex so Andy and I could have a night out. We went out for a nice Italian dinner and saw the movie Invictus. It was the first movie we have seen in the theater since Alex was born. We both enjoyed the evening together.

Christmas in Texas

Why have only one Christmas when you can have two?! We spent 5 days down in Texas with the Lerner side of the family. Then came home for a night and headed to Wisconsin the next day for Christmas #2 with the Ausman side. It was a busy "break" but it was nice to see everyone. Alex was of course spoiled by lots of love and toys. I think his birthday a month ago gave him excellent practice for opening gifts because he was certainly a pro at it for Christmas. He opened all of his presents plus some of other people's. We were terrible about taking pictures but luckily Jill took enough to make up for it. Here are some pictures from Christmas #1 in Texas.

Seeing what Santa left him in his stocking

He was pretty excited about this toy from Aunt Jill

He liked this one from Uncle Kevin too

And of course a bag of bows can be equally as fun as a room full of new toys!
